About Us

Life can look full and still feel thin. Legacy House is a church for people who want more than a full calendar. We want a life rooted in Jesus and shared with others.

Vision &
Mission

  • Our VisionWhere we are going

To see Metro Detroit saturated with disciples who love God deeply, love each other genuinely, and love the community faithfully. (Jn. 14:6; Mk. 12:30-31; 2 Cor. 5:18-20)

  • Our MissionHow we get there

Legacy House exists to create environments where people can honestly connect with God and each other, and live on mission together.

  • How We GatherTwo rhythms

Legacy Homes are where we grow together through the week. Legacy Sundays, beginning September 2027 in Royal Oak, are where we all come together. (Acts 2:42-47; Acts 6:1-7; Heb. 10:24-25)

How We
Are Led

Legacy House is led by a plurality of elders, with the lead pastor serving as first among equals, and sent out by our sending church, Rhiza Church. We want Legacy House built on health and not just vision.

  • Elders

Elders hold spiritual oversight of the church. They guard and give shape to our direction, our doctrine, and our discipline, and they meet the qualifications Scripture describes for this role.

    1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4, Acts 20:17-35
  • Pastors

Pastors lead the everyday life of the church. They preach, shepherd our people, and train the leaders of our Legacy Homes and teams.

    Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Peter 5:2-3
  • Deacons

In the early church, deacons were appointed to care for people’s practical needs so the work of the gospel could keep moving. As Legacy House grows, we will appoint deacons full of faith and the Holy Spirit to serve our church family and help steward our ministries.

    Acts 6:1-7, 1 Timothy 3:8-13

Our Sending
Church

Like the church in Antioch sending out Barnabas and Paul, Rhiza Church is praying for us, sending us, and walking with us as we plant. (Acts 13:1-3)
